Is there any particular reason why the region's founder, 'The Free Land of The IDU', has had its name and capital city removed from its former location on the map with that area now shown in the "unclaimed" colour?

(For reference, it was the area between the Bears, Malabra, and [nowadays] Lauchenoiria and Kerlile.)

It's on some versions of the map (i.e. the one with the timezones) but for some reason it doesn't show up on the main map file.

So no, no particular reason. The map has over 100 layers, I imagine it's just a visibility bug.

There's a version with timezones?
How do you reconcile that with your recent statement, in the 'Elephants and related species' thread elsewhere in this forum, that "I'm not putting longitude and latitude on the map"?
After all, the concepts of timezones and longitude are intrinsically linked: Presuming a 24-hour day (and taking the world on which the IDU exists to match Earth for matters like day-length & year-length is what we normally have done...), the default width for a one-hour timezone -- before nations start making local adjustments for political reasons -- is 1/24 of the planet's circumference which is (360/24 =15) degrees of longitude...

I can reconcile it because I'm the cartographer. People wanted timezones for more realistic RP so I put estimated timezones on the map going off best judgement - with the caveat they were rough estimations and for reference purposes.

There will be no latitude and longitude placed on the map because the map (and the size of the "planet" the IDU is on) may need to grow depending how active a region we become and I'm not placing limits on that because, by that time, nations will have established backstories and national canon based on km2, neighbouring countries etc. All of which would have to change if I have to add a new continent or two, for example.
